The Altima isn’t the only model turning to the dark side as Nissan has announced the 2022 Murano is gaining a new Midnight Edition.
Based on the mid-level Murano SV, the Midnight Edition embraces the blackout trend as the crossover features a black grille, black exterior trim, and a black accent on the front bumper. The model also rides on special 20-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish.
The Midnight Edition package costs $1,395 and will be available with front- and all-wheel drive. It’s also worth noting the Murano SV gains additional equipment as heated leatherette front seats are now standard for 2022.
There doesn’t appear to be any other changes, but pricing has crept up as the entry-level Murano S now begins at $32,910 before a $1,175 destination charge. That’s $100 more than last year, but the mid-level Murano SV sees a larger price increase of $510. Thankfully, that’s the exception as both the SL and Platinum trims see an increase of $100.
Regardless of which trim is selected, all Muranos are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 260 hp (194 kW / 264 PS) and 240 lb-ft (325 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an Xtronic continuously variable transmission, which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system for an additional $1,700.
The 2022 Nissan Murano is currently arriving at dealerships and is on sale now.
