Pricing for the prestige 2022 Maserati Ghibli sedan and 2022 Maserati Levante large SUV has increased for Australia.
The Italian marque has bumped up the Ghibli between $1500 and $3000, kicking off from $135,990 before on-road costs for the entry-level Ghibli GT and extending to $266,500 for the V8-powered Trofeo variant.
Meanwhile, the Levante is between $1000 and $9000 dearer, priced from $145,990 before on-road costs for the Levante GT to $299,990 for the Trofeo.
The Levante now features active safety equipment as standard, including; autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind-spot alert, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition.
These safety features were previously available in the optional Base package for the Levante GT, which also included aluminium paddle shifters and an electric tailgate with kick sensor.
Maserati fitted the Ghibli GT with active safety equipment in 2021, including AEB – a feature standard on the $16,000 Kia Picanto.
Each vehicle features identical variants and engines, although specification varies slightly.
The Ghibli and Levante GT are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, producing 246kW of power and 450Nm of torque.
A 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 producing 257kW and 500Nm is fitted to the the Ghibli and Levante Modena, while the Modena S increases outputs to 316kW and 580Nm.
The flagship Ghibli and Levante Trofeo are powered by a Ferrari-sourced 426kW/730Nm 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8.
Each engine is paired to a ZF-sourced eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels in the Ghibli, or all four wheels in the Levante.
Standard equipment in both vehicles include; keyless entry and start, 19-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, leather upholstery and heated front seats.
Maserati’s latest Android Automotive-based operating system is standard across the Ghibli and Levante line-up, featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa support.
However, the Levante features a 8.4-inch display while the Ghibli’s infotainment is displayed on a larger 10.1-inch unit with support for wireless smartphone mirroring.
In Australia, the Maserati range is covered by a three-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.
