If you want more scoot, Nissan offers a 50 percent horsepower upgrade in the NISMO-themed Sentra and in the more visually subdued but mechanically similar Sentra SR Turbo.

You get a a small horsepower bump for going this way.

Models with the six-speed manual get a slightly peppier 130 hp version of this engine while models equipped with the continuously variable (CVT) automatic get a 124 horsepower version. Nissan offers the Sentra S with a six-speed manual transmission; a continuously variable automatic (CVT) is optional there and standard in SV. The Sentra S is available with either the six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT, while the SV, SR, and SL only offer a CVT.

While the exterior dimensions of the Sentra are slightly larger than average, the interior is no bigger than most compact sedans.
