Ironman 4x4 introduces RAID Series bar steps and bumper to toughen up Jeep’s iconic Wrangler and Gladiator off-roaders
Ironman 4×4 has unleashed the latest generation of American-inspired protection systems. And the tough truck RAID Series debuts with packages for the iconic US off-roaders, the Jeep JT Gladiator and latest generation Jeep JL Wrangler.
The new RAID Series incorporates steel side steps, bull bar and rear bumper, each with innovative features that set them apart from anything on the market.
Key to the new RAID Series is a style-focused aesthetic that makes the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator stand out in the bush or on the street.
But the Ironman 4×4 Australia team of designers and engineers has also upgraded each component specifically for local tastes and conditions.
“We’re taking a product that’s popular in the USA but we’re making it safer, stronger and smarter,” explains Ironman 4×4 GM Product Development Kristian Ristell.
“We’ve combined the typical styling that the US market expects, but we’ve added a high degree of Australian functionality and strength to it.”
Mr Ristell says local ingenuity and an intimate understanding of consumer expectations is key to building on the style that US accessories bring to the 4×4 space.
“It’s all done by our Australian team, making the winch cradle more rigid by mounting it between the chassis rails, connecting the recovery points directly to the chassis and integrating new technology LED lighting into the bar.”
The integrated bull bar, which is priced from $1424, neatly mounts an Ironman 4×4 9500lb Monster winch directly to the chassis to take the load off the bar itself.
A removable loop at the top of the bar can be optioned with an LED light bar, complementing the two optional LED cubes towards the outer extremities of the bar. LED colours are customisable in line with evolving consumer expectations. And the front bar isn’t just about good looks. The tapered wings not only offer added protection but also allow steeper approach angles.
The RAID Series designs builds on the Wrangler and Gladiator’s already dominant off-road ability while adding muscle and additional features.
Built-in 3500kg recovery points have a striking red finish to stand out against the stealth textured grey finish of the bars. They add to the all-important functionality the Ironman 4×4 team has infused across the RAID Series.
As with all the components, the bull bar is designed to work with all the car’s existing safety systems, from airbags to parking sensors. Crucially, it’s been engineered to cope with the worst Australia can throw at it, with added strength and durability.
Rugged-looking side steps (from $959) are equally well engineered, made of a twin two-inch tube design and finished in a textured powder coating to protect the side of your vehicle. Plus, the tread plate bolts in and out easily.
At the rear is a stylish and functional steel bumper (from $1055) that integrates red recovery points mounted directly to the chassis.
Plus, it’s been engineered to integrate the factory Jeep Wrangler tow kit or the standard fitment tow package for the Jeep Gladiator. You can have the look and tow up to 2495kg in a JL Wrangler or 2721kg with the JT Gladiator.
Like the bar up front, the rear bumper integrates two optional LED cube lights that can help illuminate a camp site or set up for a recovery. That reinforces the clever thinking that emphasises the bar is more than just a design upgrade.
And if you want to go for the complete look, Ironman 4×4 bundles the three new RAID Series components – bull bar, side steps and rear bumper – into a package priced from $3092.
And Wrangler and Gladiator are only the start for the Ironman 4×4 RAID Series.
The stylish new JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator accessories are the first of a full range of RAID Series products that Ironman 4×4 will eventually offer for Toyota LandCruiser and HiLux, Ford Ranger, Nissan Navara and more.
“We started with the American vehicles,” says Mr Ristell. “But you can expect to see more vehicles benefiting from RAID Series style and technology in the future.”
