This will not be cheap to fix.
There aren’t many sounds that make us cringe as hard as crunching supercar metal. This video of a Ferrari LaFerrari ripping its side skirt open on a curb is right up there with the worst slow-speed crashes we’ve seen, simply because of how avoidable it seemed to be.
This clip, published by the Supercar Advocates Facebook page on Friday, shows the driver of a red LaFerrari hopping into the driver’s seat before slowing pulling away from a parking spot. The driver cuts sharply to the right, forgetting to account for the curbing next to the car. See where this is going?
The LaF’s side skirt takes the brunt of the hit, and despite the extremely low speeds, it’s not pretty. A video published in the comments section shows the extent of the damage, with a lower part of the body panel becoming completely ripped off. We suspect it will not be cheap to fix.
Another video published in the comments section shows the driver sitting next to the car while on the phone, presumably to get an estimate on repairs… or to inform the owner of the car of what transpired. Either way, we suspect their night was ruined.
A tip for supercar drivers: Be mindful of your surroundings, lest you be embarrassed on the internet for eternity.
