Priced at only Rs 9.98 lakh, the Style trim is the base model and offers some serious value
MG Astor is the brand’s most affordable offering in the Indian market at the moment. It boasts an excellent in-cabin experience, refined petrol engines, and attractive looks.
While we definitely like the cabin of the Astor, it is worth noting that the British carmaker is offering a significant number of features across the range. This makes the MG Astor base variant supremely VFM. Here is a quick walkaround video of the MG Astor Style base variant that is priced at Rs 9.98 lakh, ex-showroom.
Starting with the design first, the base MG Astor gets the same celestial grille with the MG badge that sits in the centre. The car also gets LED Hawkeye headlamps and DRLs.
The foglamps however are missing from the base model. On the side, unlike many other rivals, the Astor gets ORVM integrated with indicators but does miss out on alloy wheels. Move to the rear and you will notice that the Astor base model gets halogen tail lamps but apart from that, the design remains similar with the MG logo sitting right in the centre. The MG logo also doubles up as a boot door handle when pushed.
No major changes are visible from the outside to differentiate the lower model from the higher trims
Step inside the vehicle and you will realise that the brand has not cut corners when it comes to quality and fit-finish levels. The cabin gets a leather knit interior with enough soft-touch materials. The satin silver inserts do give it a premium look. The fully digital instrument cluster is missing from the package but apart from that, the base variant of the Astor boasts all the important features.
It gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment screen while the audio system comprises a 4 speaker setup. The infotainment also gets Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatibility. However, the Style variant does not get i-Smart connectivity and misses out on various car-connected features.
