We discuss the most affordable new Ferrari in the Italian marque's product line-up.
The word cheap is not commonly associated with a marque such as Ferrari. The Maranello-based automaker is well known for producing some of the finest, sports, super- and hypercars on the market today, using only the best materials to result in first-class performance and luxury.
Then there is the case of specification. Regardless, if you have chosen the most affordable new Ferrari on the market, you still need to choose the colour, leather finish, stitching colour etc. This, of course, will increase the price of the vehicle, depending on how many optional items you choose. But for the sake of this article, we take a look at the estimated base price of the most affordable new Ferrari today.
Ferrari Portofino M
The Ferrari Portofino was first unveiled locally in 2018 and takes shape as a 2+2 seater, hard-top convertible. Subsequent to its release, Ferrari developed another model on the Portofino platform, namely the Roma. With the development that took place with the Roma, the engine and transmission configurations found in the Portofino could be improved upon and, as such, the Italian marque unveiled the Portofino M (Modificata).
Under the bonnet of the Italian sportscar, customers will find a 3.9-litre, turbocharged, V8 petrol motor as found in the first iteration of the Portofino, however, now producing 456 kW and 760 Nm of torque. The bolstered powertrain is coupled to an 8-speed automated dual-clutch transmission instead of the 7-speed that was fitted in the non-M model. This engine and transmission combination results in a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of just over 320 km/h.
Should you be considering one of these stylish Ferrari Portofino M models, you can expect to pay an estimated R 5 080 200 before any optional extras are fitted. Note that this estimated price might be affected by the exchange rate and thus, can change at any moment and without notice. If this is still a little dear, why not consider a used Ferrari model on AutoTrader.
