Mitsubishi is quickly expanding its Ralliart offering by decking out the Mirage in racy attire. Going on sale in Thailand, it joins the
Triton (Strada) and Pajero Sport (Montero Sport)
in getting the sporty treatment.
Only available in Whited Diamond and Red Metallic, the Mirage Ralliart comes with a black roof, front grille, alloy wheels, door mirrors, and rear spoiler. It’s further spruced up with side decals and mud flaps with the Ralliart logo, and black over fenders with carbon grain. The last one is supposed to add a touch of “tough driving” to the Mirage’s sharp style. Inside, the changes are completed by two-tone red and black seats and floor mats with the Ralliart logo.
Sadly, Mitsubishi seems to be closely following Toyota’s strategy with their treatment to Gazoo Racing badged vehicles by leaving the Mirage’s mechanicals alone. For that, it gets the same 1.2-liter MIVEC 3-cylinder engine putting out 78 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque.
That said, at least Mitsubishi did equip the Mirage with some cutting-edge safety equipment. It now has Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) for low-speeds and a radar-based front misacceleration mitigation system.
While the Mirage Ralliart may seem like something you’ll only see in motor shows (it’ll make its debut at the Bangkok Motor Show, after all), Mitsubishi will be selling this variant. It’ll be available in Thailand first with other markets, probably the Philippines included, to follow.
