This looks very expensive.

The E90-generation BMW M3 is a fantastic machine, but it has its fair share of reliability issues. One owner experienced the car’s duality first-hand when their engine failed in spectacular fashionwhile driving at a high speed on a highway in Europe.
Instagram user bestofschaefchen published a video on Monday showing their BMW M3 sedan seemingly grenading its engine while driving under an underpass with cameras mounted on either end. The cameras capture the very moment the car’s engine fails and spews a massive cloud of blue smoke into the air.
Warning, there’s some foul language, so viewer discretion is advised.
Video from inside the car is even more entertaining, as it shows the very moment the M3 flashes the check engine alert on the iDrive system alongside that signature early-2010s BMW chime—the same one that haunted me throughout my E60 M5 ownership.
The clip then cuts to the car pulled off to the side of the road with the hood up. The entire engine bay and the hood are coated in a thick slathering of engine oil. “Rest in peace, M3 E90,” the driver says. “I might need a new engine now.”
We don’t doubt it.
