Volkswagen’s ongoing efforts to improve its after sales reputation continues with the launch of the rather commendable Mobility Guarantee programme, whereby a fleet of more than 200 Volkswagen vehicles are on standby to be offered as courtesy cars to customers whose vehicles require more than 24 horus of repair following a break down. The programme does not cover vehicles undergoing periodic servicing or accident repair.
Mr Armin Keller, Managing Director of Volkswagen Malaysia said, “Volkswagen is the first OEM in Malaysia to embark on a fully sponsored mobility guarantee programme. We now have a complete mobility service to complement our comprehensive dealer network.”
After record growths in 2011 and 2012, Volkswagen’s meteoric rise in the Malaysian market was brutally halted by perceived reliability issues on their vehicles and an overtaxed service network that struggled to cope with a stream of cars returning for various repairs and warranty claims. The Mobility Guarantee programme is the latest in a long line of initiatives by the company to improve the situation.
