Ford is planning a comeback in India with electric cars and CBUs and the Mach-E could be first on the list
Ford might have stopped producing cars in India. But the American brand is planning a comeback with CBUs and EVs. While Ford’s future plans remain a secret, the Mach-E is one vehicle that will most certainly make it to India.
Overview
Ford has confirmed bringing the Ford Mach-E to India while making an official announcement about restructuring its Indian operations. Here’s a comprehensive walkaround video about this first all-electric SUV from Ford, uploaded on YouTube by Gagan Chaudhary.
How does the Ford Mustang Mach-E look on the outside?
This video walk-around by YouTuber Gagan Chaudhary gives us an up-close look at Ford’s very first EV
Unlike the iconic Mustang GT coupe, the Ford Mustang Mach-E is a coupe-styled four-door crossover with a heightened stance and a rounded roofline.
While some might raise their eyebrows at the fact that it wears the Mustang nameplate, there are a couple of design highlights inspired by the Mustang coupe. The highlights include the design for the closed grille with the logo of pony in the middle and the triple-bar LED arrangement for the tail lamps.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E in the video is in a shade of grey and has slim all-Led headlamps with daytime running LED, which also double up as turn indicators. It also has a closed grille, with its upper arc having a camera in the middle. There is a frunk too, with removable partitions inside it.
The side profile of the Ford Mustang Mach-E looks clean, as it doesn’t come with conventional door handles.
Instead, it has small rounded electrically operated buttons recessed in the blacked pillars for opening the doors. It comes with large-profile 255/60 R18 tyres wrapped over 18-inch gunmetal alloy wheels.
The electric SUV can be specced with bigger alloy wheels with lower-profile tyres. The rounded roofline tapers downwards with a steeply raked windscreen at the back, which hides a cavernous boot compartment beneath it. The gets a fixed panoramic roof.

What does Ford Mustang offer on the inside?
It gets a neat and clean dashboard
On stepping inside the Ford Mustang Mach-E, be prepared to be amazed by the minimalist and futuristic looking cabin, which has well-appointed upholstery made of top quality black leather and metal inserts at places.
The one-touch power window switches, headlamps, and defogger controls are shared with other Fords. But, it comes with a unique door handle placed within the door armrests.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E can be ’Switched On’ using a push start-stop button, which is positioned on the dashboard panel between the steering wheel and the infotainment system. The three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel has an all-new design.
It can be adjusted for both heights and reach and has a small horizontal screen behind it for sensor-based functions. There is a rectangular full-TFT instrument console, which crisply displays all the necessary information.
The highlight of the cabin of the Ford Mustang Mach-E has to be the large rectangular portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system placed in the middle of the minimalist dashboard. Except for a rotary-style volume controller at the bottom, it is a fully-digital unit with no physical buttons. It means that every set of the vehicle operations and settings for automatic climate controls are controllable via this screen.
There are two large screens to operate almost everything in the car
The wide centre console between the seats houses the electronic parking brake lever, hazard lamp switch, parking sensors switch, and rotary-styled transmission lever. The Mustang Mach-E has a flat floor for the rear passengers, with the seat wide enough to accommodate three decently-sized adults easily.
