2022 Audi Q6 e-tron: what is it?
The arrival of the Q6 e-tron will bolster Audi’s electric SUV range, which already has the large e-tron as the flagship, and the small Q4 e-tron at the entry point. The Q6 e-tron will sit between the two and share much of its DNA with the forthcoming electric Porsche Macan.
From these pictures we can also see it takes much from the A6 e-tron saloon concept, with slim headlights mounted high on the front. The back looks more like a bigger version of the Q4 e-tron, but don’t be fooled by those rounded lights – they will almost certainly be replaced by the e-tron signature lightbar when it goes into production.
While the exterior dimensions are closer to the Audi Q5, thanks to a completely flat bottom where the battery is housed the Q6 e-tron will likely offer as much space inside as the Audi Q7. For an idea of how the interior and infotainment will look just take a peek at the Q4 e-tron, there won’t be much difference.
2022 Audi Q6 e-tron: what will it be powered by?
It’s almost a certainty that the Q6 e-tron will use the same 100kWh battery as the A6 e-tron saloon, which in that car will be capable of an impressive 435 miles when it goes on sale in 2023. Given the size and weight of the Q6 e-tron that range will drop a little, but it should still be good for 400 miles on a single charge.
There will be a variety of power outputs, including a hot version with nearly 500hp, and there will be the choice between single motor and dual motor models. Audi is yet to reveal any performance data, but we’ll keep you posted with what we learn.
The Q6 e-tron should also support 350kW charging, as it’s sharing so much of Porsche’s electric tech.
2022 Audi Q6 e-tron: when will it be on sale?
The finished product won’t be seen until sometime next year, and it will go on sale before the end of 2022.
2022 Audi Q6 e-tron: how much will it cost?
Again, there’s no official line from Audi yet on pricing, but looking at how the Q4 e-tron and flagship e-tron are priced we predict a starting point of around £60,000.
