Motorists looking to own the new Ford Puma in South Africa will need to spend at least R1,600 per month on insurance, according to research done by TopAuto.
The Puma is Ford’s new entry-level option on the tip of Africa, available in two trim levels – Titanium and ST-Line Vignale – with prices starting at R569,900 and R613,900, respectively.
Driving the crossover’s front wheels is a 1.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine, which generates a total of 92kW and 170Nm.
This is paired with a seven-speed automatic gearbox, leading to an average fuel consumption of 5.3l/100km.
As far as equipment is concerned, the base Titanium comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, automatic LED headlights, daytime running lights, keyless start, an 8.0-inch media system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloth upholstery, a wireless charger, six speakers, ambient lighting, two USB ports, automatic climate control, a leather multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, hill assist, and rear parking sensors.
If you opt for the top-spec ST-Line Vignale, you’ll also receive a hands-free tailgate, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, keyless entry, leather upholstery, lumbar massage front seats, a height-adjustable driver seat, and a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo.
