Not only built for ankle snapping offspring but adults too!
Select Audi models will be available with Holoride from June 2022.
The Holoride tech will be accessible via third-generation modular infotainment toolkit (MIB 3).
A step into the future.
Gone are the days where back seat passengers of tender ages looked out of the window onto countryside landscapes during long journeys. The new generation is now festooned with screens and gadgets that keep them satisfied and Audi’s Holoride Virtual Reality aims at capitalising on this.
A step into the future.
Cleverly, the German brand has combined the experience of a journey with a virtual video game that back seat passengers can use while on the road. It is sure to be a hit with the next generation of kids as the Holoride tech uses a VR headset which is connected to the vehicle via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
The latest addition to Audi’s passenger experience will be available on select models in June 2022 that make use of the third-generation modular infotainment toolkit (MIB 3). These include higher-end family orientated vehicles such as the A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q5, Q7, Q8, e-Tron, and e-Tron GT Quattro. Buyers in the United States, Japan, China, Canada and the European market will be afforded with the virtual option which is sure to be a hit with ankle nipping offspring.

The Holoride system makes use of VR or XR (extended reality) systems to make the journey for back-seat passengers less mundane. This is done by the immersive experience of films, video games, interactive content and multimodal gaming events.

This is further enhanced by the Holoride tech incorporating the motion of the vehicle into the immersive experience which is mimicked in game, not sure how great it will be for motion sickness though.

Audi is further confident that the Holoride virtual reality tech is a stride into their autonomous driving systems which would enable the driver to focus less on the road and possibly even get in on the virtual gaming action with occupants of the second row.
