Expect a low-slung crossover with naturally aspirated V-12 power.
FerrariThe Purosangue is Ferrari’s most important car in decades. The first SUV from the brand promises sports-car handling and a naturally aspirated V-12 engine. Now, we finally know when it’ll be revealed: September 13.
You heard it here first.
More will be revealed on the 13th of September.#FerrariPurosangue #Ferrari pic.twitter.com/xQOTpdJBiM— Ferrari (@Ferrari) September 6, 2022
The official Ferrari Twitter account published a short teaser video on Tuesday showing off a darkened photo of the front of the car and a sound clip of that glorious V-12. The release date, one week from today, is just one day before the Detroit Auto Show begins. It’s unlikely, however, that Ferrari plans to show the car at the event.
The Purosangue has been spotted testing numerous times in Italy outside of Ferrari’s factory in Maranello. The company released its first official photo of the car back in March following a leak from the factory giving us our first peek at the design.
By all accounts, the Purosangue will be primarily an on-road vehicle without many off-road-ready upgrades. And unlike its main competitor, the Urus, it’ll have 12 cylinders and no turbochargers. Exactly how we like it.
We’ll know more in seven days.
