It's gearing up for a Goodwood debut.
Ford has taken to its social media channels to tease an all-new variant of the Mustang Mach-E ahead of a debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The teaser video shows a couple of Mustang Mach-Es driving around the Goodwood circuit before a third model wearing the new Ford Performance colors joins them, albeit never in full view. The trio then tackles the hill climb itself before the new model goes off-road down a dirt path on its own.
The video ends briefly with “A new electric pony is coming” and the date of the reveal: 14 July 2023.
So what could it be?

Ford News Europe/Twitter Ford News Europe/TwitterThere's already a Ford Mustang Mach-E GT as the current range-topper, and a GT derivative wouldn't get Ford Performance colors. This suggests the new Mach-E derivative will be an even more potent version than the GT's 480 horsepower and 634 lb-ft of torque in the Performance Edition eAWD.
In the teaser, we also get a brief glimpse of its wheels, which are gold-finished items reminiscent of rally-style turbofan wheels. This might suggest a high-speed off-roader…
Could we be looking at a Mustang Mach-E Raptor?
Previously, we would've said no, but Ford has seemingly been open to using the Raptor name on new models, with disproven rumors previously suggesting a Mustang Raptor was even in the cards.

Raptors are the purview of Ford Performance, so there may be something there, and while this might not be a Baja-style desert runner like other Raptor variants, a rally-style Mustang Mach-E Raptor could still work, especially in Europe (the teaser comes from Ford Europe) where the Ford Puma is used as the automaker's official car in the WRC.
The caption on Twitter for the teaser says, “Hint: we're not horsing around about this… or are we?” which also suggests something horse-like in the name of the new model. We can clearly see this is a Mustang Mach-E, so we don't think that the Mustang name is what Ford is alluding to.
Another possibility, not mutually exclusive of the Raptor idea, is that this is a high-performance version co-developed with the brains from Red Bull Racing, who were already reportedly helping Ford develop a performance EV earlier this year after the two announced an F1 partnership from 2026.
We'll find out soon enough.
