Ford has placed the digital prototype Team Fordzilla P1 on real wheels in collaboration with HP. Driving, on the other hand, will only get more computerized. Under the moniker “Squad Fordzilla,” Ford established a worldwide sim racing team in numerous European nations in 2019.
A year later, at the Gamescom trade show, the team and the manufacturer unveiled the digital model of the P1 racing vehicle, which was created in partnership with the gaming community. Ford is now moving forward with the next collaboration partner. The virtual flounder has become a genuine model thanks to HP.
There’s just one driver, but there are a lot of people watching.
The future car, however, will not be seen on the racetrack since it is missing key components. Consider an engine. The racing car of Team Fordzilla is more of a streaming platform than a vehicle, bringing the racetrack to the viewers rather than the other way around.
A gamer wearing VR glasses sits in the cockpit and may let off steam in racing simulators. Three 4K cameras are pointed at the pedals, steering wheel, and driver’s face. The photos, together with the virtual race circuit, are transmitted on a 10 X 4 meter display so that passersby may participate in the digital racing action.
For the first time, the streaming sensation was shown live to attendees at the Gamergy21 esports and gaming trade show in Madrid. A second vehicle is being created as a result of the positive reaction. Team Fordzilla is planning a type of supervan. Ford enthusiasts will recall that the company had prior experience racing commercial trucks of the same name in the real world. The new product should be based on the present Ford Transit design.
To put it simply, the real-life Fordzilla P1 team is a high-tech seat for racing simulations. The technology, however, is structured in such a way that not only does the driver immerse himself in the digital racing environment via VR glasses, but the pictures are also sent to a massive screen. Following that, a Ford Supervan will be used.
