$100. That's the amount that Subaru has increased the price of the Crosstrek for 2020
Subaru has just announced pricing for the 2020 Crosstrek. The changes are largely the same as its sibling the Impreza, which means more active safety features and a rear-seat reminder, but there are also some climate control upgrades. And unlike the Impreza, a slight price hike.
$100. That’s the amount that Subaru has increased the price of the Crosstrek for 2020, putting its starting price at $23,795. So let’s take a look at what you get for that hundo.
It starts with automatic climate control. Letting you set it and forget it in your Crosstrek for 2020. There’s also a new rear-seat reminder feature that could help ensure you don’t forget about someone or something that’s in the back seat and really shouldn’t be before you walk away from the car. Subaru has also changed up the taillights over last year to freshen the look and has added bits like automatic post-collision unlocking.
All models with the CVT get Subaru’s EyeSight active safety suite as standard. That means a host of driver aids like radar cruise control, lane-keeping assist, pre-collision braking, and more. Previously, EyeSight came only on Sport and higher trims, so if you were looking for those features, they’ve gotten much cheaper. CVT-buyers also get Subaru’s SI-Drive modes which are essentially a sport mode for the engine and transmission.
Manual transmission buyers get, well, manual active safety. They’ll have to keep it between the lines themselves, but then again they’re probably ok with that. At least they get six speeds to go with the 152 hp 2.0L four. That’s one more gear than the Impreza gets in its manual box.
On higher trims, the price differences between this year and last get a bit larger. $800 more for Touring 6MT and $600 for the top Limited CVT, for example. Base Crosstreks come equipped with a 6.5-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as 17-inch alloys. Touring adds Subaru’s Starlink Connected services as well as heated front seats and auto headlights. Sport gets LED adaptive headlights, power sunroof and driver’s seat, premium cloth, and a larger infotainment system. Plus more active safety features like blind-spot alerts and rear cross-traffic warnings. Finally, the CVT-only Limited adds leather, 18-inch alloys, a heated wheel, and navigation.
Expect the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek at dealers shortly.
