MUNICH: In celebration of BMW Motorsport’s premium technology partnership with Shell, 18 top performing Malaysian workshop owners got to enjoy Munich, Germany, and BMW’s Driving Experience.
The 18 guests were given the opportunity to learn how to execute a 180-degree backwards spin as well as how to best navigate through a slalom course by expert instructors.
In addition, they were also treated to a fast-paced taxi-ride in a BMW M4 and also discovered if they had with it takes to drive in the world’s most advanced touring car racing series – the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM).
“It was simply one of the best experiences ever while learning new skills from the BMW expert drivers,” said Niew Theam Keat who owns a service centre in Kuala Lumpur specialising in Continental cars.

Throughout the visit, they also learnt about the science behind the technical partnership in the bespoke ‘Shell Helix Ultra DTM Garage’ where they witnessed a live oil analysis in the Shell mobile Track Lab.
They also took a virtual reality tour of the product benefits of Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology and even got to view the Shell BMW M4 DTM replica car up close.
For the duration of the trip, they were given the opportunity to explore the scenic and historic city of Munich as well as soak up the Bavarian culture, before ending with a Gala Dinner at the BMW Museum, where Shell Helix and professional BMW works drivers joined them for an exclusive awards ceremony.
