The large van segment is rapidly adopting fully-electric drivetrain options and now Renault has confirmed it will bring the Master E-Tech to Australia
Renault is set to introduce the fully-electric Master E-Tech large van to Australian shores as the French brand embraces electrification in the commercial sector.
The Master E-Tech will join the Kangoo E-Tech small van in the Australian range at a yet-to-be-specified date, though an arrival by early next year seems likely.
When it launches here, the Master E-Tech will take on a growing fleet of fully-electric large vans such as the Ford e-Transit and Mercedes-Benz e-Sprinter.

Master E-Tech range and charging
Renault has equipped the Master E-Tech with a newly designed 52kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a WLTP-tested range of 200km.
Once all the energy has been exhausted, drivers can plug into a wallbox-style AC charger that is capable of speeds up to 7.4kWh – a move that should see the battery topped up from flat to full in around seven hours.
If faster charging is required, the Master E-Tech can use a DC charger at speeds of up to 22kW – enough to add 50km of range in 45 minutes.

Carrying capacity
While the official specification is yet to be finalised for the Australian market, globally the Master E-Tech will be available in three different lengths and heights.
The variety of options will include a GWM of between 3.1 and 3.5 tonnes, with a storage capacity of between eight and 15 square metres.
Renault has focused on increasing the safety of the Master E-Tech by fitting a suite of active-safety features including front and rear parking sensors, a rear camera and AEB along with a wind-assistance feature that helps stabilise the car during rough weather conditions.
