Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET) is growing its dealer network ahead of the official launch of the smart brand in Malaysia. PRO-NET is the official importer and distributor for smart vehicles in Malaysia and Thailand and has scheduled the launch of the smart #1 EV in Malaysia at the end of 2023.
The 5 new dealers for smart are:
- Smart Mobility Sdn Bhd
- GB Auto Sdn Bhd
- Eleganz Lifestyle Sdn Bhd
- Lee Motors (Alor Star) Sdn Bhd
- Sigma Energy EV Sdn Bhd
The dealers have experience with automotive retailing, including luxury brands. Since PRO-NET is targetting the affluent crowd, these dealerships will be located in prime locations and major cities across Peninsular Malaysia.
Smart Mobility will be located in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur to target a diverse spectrum of clientele ranging from expatriates to high-profile individuals. Meanwhile, GB Auto will cover Ipoh, Perak in the north, while Lee Motors will service its home market of Alor Star, Kedah. Eleganz Lifestyle and Sigma Energy EV will establish its dedicated showrooms in Penang and Melaka.
“smart epitomizes the pinnacle of premium EV mobility solutions with a combination of futuristic design and advanced technology, hence, it is paramount that our appointed dealers deliver on our brand promise with unparalleled service that reinforces the exciting customer journey regarding ownership of smart vehicles,” said Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET.
PRO-NET has appointed 7 dealers this month, including Hap Seng Smart and Edaran Otomobil Nasional (EON), laying the groundwork to reach out to customers prior to the launch of the smart #1. More partners are being considered for collaborations, including in East Malaysia where PRO-NET plans to bring the smart brand next year.
The dealer appointments smart Malaysia’s strategy to introduce its new premium, intelligent, and all-electric auto brand to the local market. This includes establishing smart brand centres a.k.a. “smart Space” as a one-stop centre for EV adoption and convenience.
smart one-stop centres will offer mobility solutions to smart’s EV adopters where all outlets will be equipped with full sales and service support, including quick charging facilities and quick repair services.
Users of smart vehicles can also expect integration with a mobile application for an immersive digital journey that offers convenient access to product information, ordering and payment options, and integrated EV charging map with easy-to-navigate DC charging facilities.
“We believe EV is not only about positioning premium products but most importantly it is how we can strive to be an inspiring creator and urban companion to provide a new premium service experience to customers and invite them to co-create a better future together,” added Zhang. “We are working hard to ensure that our EV mobility ecosystem is ready before the launch of the smart #1 at the end of this year and we will share more news about other major developments in the coming months”.
