IPOH: It was a dark though not stormy night. But beware of buffalo crossing!
A family of three had a traumatising experience when they “picked up” an unexpected fourth passenger.
They were heading to Langkap from Teluk Intan in a Porsche Cayenne when they accidentally hit a buffalo that was crossing the road at KM12 Jalan Changkat Jong in Teluk Intan, about 90km from here.
“The impact caused the buffalo to be thrown into the air,” said Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Marzhuki Mohd Mokhtar.
Strangely, the animal somehow became wedged into the sunroof of the car.
The buffalo died on the spot.
ACP Mohd Marzhuki said the driver and two passengers, including a nine-year-old girl, suffered light injuries.
“They were treated at the Anson Bay Treatment Centre,” he said.
ACP Mohd Marzhuki said the weather was normal and the two-way straight road was dry at the time of the accident, but there were no streetlights.
“Breeders should take proper care of their livestock.
“It is their responsibility not to let the animals roam freely,” he added.
