A risk of steering failure in two of the nation’s favourite off-road machines has triggered a recall of 15,000 popular models.
Isuzu has recalled popular models to address a potential steering flaw.
Isuzu has recalled more than 15,000 cars to address a potentially deadly steering fault.
The manufacturer says popular D-Max dual-cab utes and MU-X wagons built between 2020 and 2022 may have a loose bolt in the steering mechanism.

A public notice published on Vehiclerecalls.gov.au states that “if the steering shaft bolt dislodges while operating the vehicle, it will cause a loss of steering”.
“This may increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to the driver, occupants and other road users.”
The Isuzu MU-X is a popular four-wheel-drive.
Isuzu says a total steering failure is unlikely, and that there have been no instances of the issue occurring in Australia.
Affected models will be checked as a precaution, and have steering bolts tightened if necessary.
The issue follows a recall for 7000 D-Max models with potentially faulty tonneau covers in July 2022, and 400 cars with incorrect tow bar bolts in February 2022.
Owners affected by the recall will be notified in writing.
Isuzu says the steering issue has not occurred in Australia.
Isuzu customers can also contact their nearest authorised Isuzu UTE Dealership to have the campaign completed, or call the brand’s customer service department on 1300 147 898.
