I initially received a Rs 5,000 bill estimate, which was later reduced by half.
BHPian zandot recently shared this with other enthusiasts.
Reporting back on the first service for the Ioniq 5, overall a poor experience. The vehicle was picked up around lunch despite multiple calls and follow-ups, which already indicated it was just going to be a rush job.
I informed them of the only issue I had, that there was a slight vibration in the steering wheel at higher speeds >100 and that balancing/alignment should be done.
After pick up and the courtesy vehicle received a call from the SA, it was complete silence till evening. I inquired about when the vehicle would be returned at 7 p.m. and was informed the bill was Rs 5000 for the first free service. Which let’s be honest, seems excessive. I questioned how that is possible for a 3-month-old vehicle to share a bill copy. No bill copy was shared. Thankfully, Hyundai has a service estimate on its website. Upon sharing a screenshot of this, the bill was suddenly halved and sent to me for payment so the vehicle could be delivered. Which it then was in a very dirty condition.
So for the first service, the bill was Rs. 2399 as indicated on the Hyundai website for the AC filter change @ 10,000 km, no balancing was done despite the customer asking for it. Was informed they didn’t notice any vibration when they did a road test. Dirty/Oily hand prints on the light-coloured roof liner. Overall a poor experience which will mean I will now have to go elsewhere to get the vehicle cleaned and balancing done. Will be going to a different service centre next time.
A query from BHPian nidhikapoor
Few questions for owners here if you could be kind enough to take the time.
- Is the TPMS a genuine TPMS that tells you the pressure or one of those that only detects a low pressure by a change in rolling circumference?
- So, does the Indian version come with the external charging indicator above the front bumper?
- That panel next to the screen – is it magnetic or just metal? What I mean is can you stick on any magnetic material, or will it take only actual magnets?
- I think the only difference between what is sold here and the top trim RWD abroad is I think:
The slightly lower capacity battery
The absence of the HUD
The lack of ability to move the car from outside
BHPian zandot replied to this query:
- Genuine TMPS which shows PSI
- No
- Could just be metal as it doesn’t work directly with the Apple MagSafe mount. Normal magnets are fine. Haven’t investigated it too much, to be honest.
- Not sure what you’re asking here but no remote parking is not there and neither are the buttons present.
Overall the vehicle is feature-packed when compared to the the Nexon or the new MG ZS EV, both of which I have owned and Hyundai have got the feature list about right for the Indian market at this price point. The interior also feels more premium than say the Kia EV6 however that offers a much sportier experience.
