The latest teaser from Volkswagen reveals the exterior of the top-end Vitus GT sedan. The latest teaser clearly shows many exterior design elements of the Volkswagen Vitus sedan.
As per the previous teaser videos released by Volkswagen, expect the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus sedan to make its global debut on 8th March 2022. Moreover, we expect Volkswagen to commence the deliveries of the Virtus sedan within a month from its global debut.
The latest teaser reveals the top-end GT variant of the Virtus sedan, and the teaser also reveals the front, side and rear portion of the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus sedan.
As per the latest teaser, the front portion of the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus sedan looks very understated yet stylish and looks more like an evolutionary design of the Volkswagen Vento. Moreover, the new headlights with LED projector headlamps and L-shaped DRLs make the car feel premium.
At the rear, the Volkswagen Virus sedan sports wrap-around two-piece LED taillamps with light guides, this lends the Volkswagen Virtus more premium yet sophisticated looks and accentuates the width of the car.
Moreover, the side profile of the Volkswagen Virtus reveals the car to be lengthy with a generous amount of interior space and rear legroom.
The size of the Volkswagen Virtus sedan is the courtesy of its MQB-A0 IN platform, this platform is used by other cars under the Volkswagen Group such as the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Slavia and Skoda Kushaq.
Apart from that, by using this platform, the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus will share many mechanical bits from the above-mentioned cars including suspension and powertrain. This means the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus will be offered with two engine options – the first engine option being the 1.0 TSI and the next engine option being 1.5 TSI.
The first engine option 1.0 TSI is a 1.0-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine with 113bhp of peak power and 178Nm of peak torque, whereas the second engine option is a larger 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine with 150bhp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque.
While both engines come with a similar 6-speed manual transmission as standard, the automatic transmission differs with engines as the 1.0 TSI engine is paired to 6-speed torque convertor gearbox, whereas the 1.5 TSI engine comes mated to a more advanced 7-speed DSG gearbox.
In terms of features, we expect the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus is likely to mimic features from the Skoda Slavia, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun with features such as a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging pad, electric sunroof, automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, automatic wipers, fully-digital instrument cluster, cruise control and much more.
Moreover, safety features such as multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, traction control (TC), Rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), could be part of standard equipment.
Thoughts About Volkswagen Virtus Sedan In India
We expect the Volkswagen Virtus to be slightly more expensive than the almost identical Skoda Slavia when they finally go head-to-head in the Indian automobile market. However, expect Volkswagen Virtus to be a runaway success for the German brand as the mid-size sedan is a much-awaited replacement for the ageing Vento sedan.
