New era of high-performance Ralliart-prepared models to debut at Tokyo Auto Salon
Mitsubishi has teased a mystery Ralliart concept that has been confirmed for an unveiling at the Tokyo Auto Salon on January 14.
Set to be the first in a line of high-performance offerings to be released by the Japanese car-maker’s revived sports sub-brand, the new teaser previews a vehicle with a huge rear diffuser that gets an F1-style LED light incorporated within it.
Positioned at the top right of the aero aid is Ralliart’s new badge.

Mitsubishi hasn’t explicitly revealed which vehicle is in store for the Ralliart treatment, but the lower edge of the tailgate in the teaser appears to be an exact match for the new Mitsubishi Outlander mid-size SUV.
Mitsubishi announced back in May this year that it would resurrect its retired Ralliart motorsport division to re-enter the world of racing and introduce a new range of accessories.
Faster Ralliart-prepared versions of its existing line-up are in the mix, including a hot take on the Mitsubishi Triton to rival the Ford Ranger Raptor.
There’s no word on how a Ralliart version of the Mitsubishi Outlander might take shape, but the lack of tailpipes within the rear diffuser suggests the concept might be all-electric or feature a more powerful version of the existing car’s plug-in hybrid powertrain.
As well as the new Ralliart concept, Mitsubishi is also primed to pull the drapes off a new pure-electric city car at the Tokyo show that’s claimed to feature advanced driver assistance systems.
Stay tuned, as more Ralliart-shaped teasers are expected in the coming weeks.
