Ford and its local distributor Sime Darby Auto Connexion, has officially launched the versatile all-new S-Max MPV in Malaysia.
Packed with smart technologies, the S-MAX is designed for ultimate family convenience and is the most powerful MPV in its class, thanks to a new fuel-efficient 2L EcoBoost engine that delivers an impressive 240 PS (237 hp).
Priced at RM234,988.00 on the road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia and RM238,288.00 in East Malaysia, the all-new S-MAX is available in 3 colors – Frozen White, Moondust Silver and Magnetic Grey.

Whether during a family getaway to Cameron Highlands or a weekday school run with the kids, S-MAX enables up to seven people to travel in comfort – with Easy-Fold second and third row seats that help to provide a remarkable 32 seating and load-space combinations. The system allows each rear seat to be folded flat from a push-button control panel, while the second and third row seats can be folded flat at the touch of a button making instant room for sports gear or bulky DIY purchases.
A comprehensive safety package offers drivers extra peace of mind, including seven airbags, complemented by Ford’s Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS and other safety technologies, as well as ISOFIX child safety mounts. The S-MAX was also recently awarded the maximum 5-star safety rating by the Euro NCAP independent crash test authority.
Complementing this is a range of smart technologies including Ford’s SYNC 2 voice-activated connectivity system that helps keep the driver’s eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. The advanced system features a high-resolution 8″ color touchscreen and voice control for hands-free operation of audio, temperature control and connected mobile phone functions.

The S-MAX is the only MPV in its class to offer heated and cooled 8-way powered massage seats as standard. With Ford Multi-Contour seats, which include an Active Motion massage function, the S-MAX can reduce fatigue, aches and pains for both driver and front passenger by keeping muscles and blood vessels stimulated with the unique wave motion delivered by inflatable cushions within the seats.
The advanced system monitors pressure in the individual cushions to feel like a single roller subtly stretching the back, and two intensity settings can be selected from the central touchscreen.
The S-MAX uses camera, radar and ultrasonic devices that deliver remarkable driving technologies to help drive and control the vehicle safely, including:
- Adaptive LED headlamps and Glare-free Highbeam Technology – adjusts the headlamp beam angle and intensity
- Lane Keep Alert and Aid – alerts the driver of unintended lane changes and actively steers the car back into place
- Driver Alert – monitors driving behavior for signs of inattentive driving and alerts the driver to take a rest
- Curve Control and Roll Stability Control systems – enhance vehicle stability by adjusting engine torque and braking to help drivers maintain control
