Three new-generation Ford off-roaders coming in three consecutive months
There’s good news if you’re hanging out for the new Ford Ranger ute, because first customer deliveries will start in June.
And the high-performance Ford Ranger Raptor won’t be far behind it, followed by the new Ranger-based Ford Everest off-road SUV.
The twin-turbo petrol V6-powered 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor will start being delivered to Aussie buyers in July, while the Everest will be in showrooms and available to drive away from August.
If you’re keen to get in the queue you’ll have to wait though, because the order books don’t open until pricing is announced.
Ford says that will happen “soon”.
The new-generation Ford Ranger broke cover last November and key powertrain figures, dimensions and capability specs – including for the new 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel – were revealed earlier this month.
The second-generation Ford Ranger Raptor was revealed in February and the Everest on March 1.
The new Rangers and the Everest are all based on the same T6.2 ladder frame, which will underpin the second-generation Volkswagen Amarok next year, and were developed in tandem Down Under.
The Ford Ranger is Australia’s most popular 4×4 ute, while the new Everest – which also brings the option of a beefy 184kW/600Nm 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel alongside its standard, slightly detuned 154kW/500Nm 2.0-litre biturbo diesel – is expected to dramatically increase sales in this generation.

Expect minor price hikes for all three models, and strong early demand for the Raptor and TDV6 versions of the Ranger and Everest.
Meanwhile, production of the current Ranger ends in Thailand within days, before Everest production ceases by May. Stocks of the outgoing Ranger will be limited during its run-out, so don’t expect big discounts.
