Ford’s all-new Aussie-developed ute range detailed, including Ranger Raptor, ahead of June arrival
Ford Australia has finally revealed pricing for the 2022 Ford Ranger that arrives in June, with the all-new series starting from $35,930 plus on-road costs for the XL 4×2 HR Single Cab Chassis 2.0L SiT automatic.
And at the top end, the high-performance 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor that’s due to start arriving in July is priced at $85,490 plus ORCs.
The new book-ending prices mark a $1040 increase over the previous-generation range-opener and a $6100 hike at the top of the range, which was not unexpected given the improvements brought with the new-generation Aussie-developed ute range.
See our full price list below, but at the entry level the XL grade comes in both 4×2 and 4×4 configuration with the choice of Single, Super or Double Cab Chassis and Super or Double Cab Pick-Up body styles.
Two engines are available in this trim with the 2.0-litre biturbo (‘2.0L BiT’) unit commanding a $2500 premium over the single-turbo (‘2.0L SiT’) version where both are offered in an equivalent grade.
Above the XL on the family tree is the XLS, which can only be had in two versions – either a 4×2 ($46,730) or 4×4 ($54,330) Double Cab Pick-Up fitted with the 2.0L BiT mill.

Traditionally the volume-selling model grade, the XLT can be had in five different forms, comprising a 4×2 HR (with high-ride suspension), a 4×4 Super Cab Pick-Up, two Double Cab Pick-Ups and one Double Cab Chassis.
Most importantly, the XLT is the first grade in the line-up available with the new 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine which carries a $3000 premium over the equivalent 2.0-litre variant.
The XLT starts from $53,990 for the 4×2 Double Pick-Up 2.0L BiT and rises to $64,190 for the 4×4 Double Cab 3.0L V6.
Ford Ranger Sport
Previously described as the XLT’s more stylish sibling, the Ranger Sport is available exclusively as a 4×4 Double Cab Pick-Up, starting from $63,690 in four-cylinder guise and rising to $66,690 when fitted with the V6.
Above the Sport, the decked-out 4×4-only Wildtrak has risen in price by $1100 to now start from $67,190, adding another $3000 for the V6.
At the top of the tree, the new 292kW/583Nm Ford Ranger Raptor will start from $85,490 plus ORCs, marking a $6100 price increase over its biturbo diesel predecessor.

Ford Australia and New Zealand president and CEO Andrew Birkic said the new Ranger’s marginal price increases was “excellent news” for customers given the “great steps forward” between generations.
“The 2022 Ranger is a world-class vehicle, with significant leaps forward in technology, safety and capability across the range,” he said.
“Ranger is an award-winning vehicle, and we expect this next-generation model to raise that standard.”
