The BMW iX is the world’s first all-electric SUV.
Every now and again, an automobile arrives on the market that seems poised to usher in a revolution. A model that represents a before and after for the brand in terms of performance, design, and technology. A vehicle designed with extraordinary attention to detail to be the epicenter of the entire brand’s potential.
The new BMW iX is one of those automobiles that comes with the burden of becoming a benchmark from the start. For a variety of reasons:
The successful Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) idea is redefined. It is the first SAV designed from the ground up as a totally electric car.
Throughout the value chain, it is a very sustainable vehicle.
Its development has made great use of secondary raw resources, natural, and recycled materials. Chrome has nearly been phased out, while the usage of recycled aluminum and plastics has increased. Other materials utilized include FSC-certified timber, leather tanned with olive leaf extract, and floor coverings and mats manufactured from recycled fishing nets, among others.
The remote software updates and functionalities on demand ensure that the car software is constantly up to date. The new My Modes feature, which enhances the options for selecting vehicle settings, should be highlighted at this point. With 5G connectivity, BMW guarantees that the BMW iX is a pioneer in data transmission.
It features the newest highly integrated battery cell technology, as well as the fifth generation of BMW eDrive technology, which includes an electric motor, electrical unit, and gearbox.
The next generation of BMW iDrive control/operating system makes its debut. With the new BMW Curved Display and BMW Natural Interaction, touchscreen functionality is improved. The 12.3-inch infotainment screen is coupled with a 14.9-inch instrument cluster on another digital display. Both include cutting-edge visuals and cutting-edge software based on the BMW ID8 operating system.
You may reserve your BMW iX at the event.
Let’s speak about mechanics for a moment. The BMW iX’s engine produces 630 Nm of torque in the xDrive40 and 765 Nm in the xDrive50. In 4.6 seconds, the latter accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h. With a gross energy content of 111.5 kWh in the BMW iX xDrive50 and 76.6 kWh in the BMW iX xDrive40, the high-voltage battery in both cases is high-voltage.
