The new Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner is the brand’s latest luxury sedan, and was revealed at the prestigious Monterey Car Week.
“The most luxurious Flying Spur to date” was designed and hand-built by Mulliner, and takes its place as the flagship model in the Bentley range.
Bentley said that this version is for those who desire an even greater focus on elegant details in a modern luxury car.
Mulliner Exterior
One of the ways Mulliner has made the Flying Spur stand out is through the use of 22-inch wheels, in a grey, polished finish with self-levelling wheel caps.
This is complemented by the implementation of a “Double Diamond” front grille, flanked by bespoke Mulliner-branded wing vents and Satin Silver painted mirror caps.
Atop this grille then sits the illuminated – and electronically deployed – Flying B ornament.
Other ornamental features on the Bentley include jeweled fuel and oil caps.
Mulliner Interior
The inside of the Flying Spur has experienced the full Mulliner treatment, too, with the deep-pile overmats welcoming you to the ultra-luxurious cabin that features hand-stitched seats with accent colour piping and unique Mulliner embroidery.
An example of a curated interior is shown below, which features a combination of Imperial Blue and Camel leather with white micro-piping, embroidery, and accent lines.
Adding to this opulence is the standard Mulliner Driving Specification.
This spec includes “Diamond-in-Diamond” quilting on the seats and three-dimensional leather on the doors.
It took Mulliner 18 months to develop this embroidering process and each diamond pattern contains 712 individual stitches, said the company.
In the back of the Bentley, attached to the rear of the front seats, are electronically-operated, leather-trimmed tables that can be deployed or returned to their home position through the touch of a button.
The look of the interior is finished off with an LED instrument panel, rotating infotainment display, panoramic sunroof, and a heated duo-tone, 3-spoke steering wheel.
Performance
The new Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner is available with three power unit options.
Bentley’s 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged, W12 motor is the most powerful of the three available, with 467kW and 900Nm.
This allows the Flying Spur to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 333km/h.
The second-most-powerful engine is a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged, V8 that makes 404kW and 770Nm.
With the V8 equipped, the Flying Spur can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds and achieve a top speed of 318km/h.
The third engine option is a 2.9-litre, twin-turbocharged, V6 hybrid set-up that produces 400kW and 750Nm.
A 0-100km/h time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 285km/h is obtained with this power unit.
