At the same time as the Munich brand continues to promote the unreleased BMW M3 Touring on social media, these fresh spy photographs allow us to get a closer look at the sports family, verifying some of the details we’ve learned so far about its development.
If you’ve been wishing for a BMW M3 Touring for years, you’re in luck. And, although the German company is taking use of the chance to market its new high-performance sports family by posting camouflaged prototypes on social media, these new spy photographs will allow you to have a closer look at the exterior and inside in luxurious detail.
Our cameras stationed outside the Arctic Circle caught this prototype of what will be the most powerful model of the 3 Series Touring range when it was parked. The insignia, which validates what we have been telling you during its development, is the most fascinating aspect. As demonstrated by the ornamental plate with the name of this edition, only the rare 2023 M3 Touring Competition will be available.
The new BMW M3 Touring M Competition xDrive sports family is called BMW M3 Touring M Competition xDrive.
Around the perimeter, the fresh images reveal a high degree of aggression.
The bulging wheel arches reveal a wider width on both axes, just as the front bumper displays the enormous cooling intakes situated at the defense’s ends, to which are added some fine vertical gills at the ends, and connecting a noticeable spoiler on the bottom edge. With the center depression at the edge of the bonnet and this panel with its powerdomes, the vertical grille includes two horizontal bars.
The imposing alloy wheels, the braking system with perforated discs on both axles, the distinctive side skirts, the rear spoiler on the tailgate, the aerodynamic diffuser, and the fourth exhausts are all standard, as are the narrow LED headlamps and laser light.
The new M3 Touring Competition will have all of the necessary components to be a real top-of-the-line model.
The inside is also seen in spy photographs. Despite its concealment, the new dashboard screen is clearly visible, with the touch portion at the height of the center console housing the “iDrive8” infotainment system. As with the rest of the new models, this design is imposing, boosting cache and opting for a more basic approach.
The M3 Touring Competition will be a first next summer, debuting at the end of the year with the most powerful version of the 3.0-liter biturbo in-line six-cylinder engine: 510 horsepower with xDrive traction and an eight-speed sports automatic gearbox.
The overall power will be about 500 CV, with a range of 700 kilometers on a single charge in the best-case scenario. There will be quattro drive variants.
When will it be available? The new Q6 e-tron is expected to be released in the second part of this year. As a result, its commercial release and arrival at dealerships will be postponed until 2023.
