Although the SUV now looks even better, the heavier steel rims have affected the vehicle’s fuel efficiency & low-speed manoeuvrability.
BHPian oldskool_16 recently shared this with other enthusiasts.
Finally, I have upgraded to off-road steel rims and 31X10.50 R15 AT tyres, always wanted to upgrade.
After upgrading, these are my observations:
- Vehicle looks smashing and is a showstopper.
- As steel rims are heavier, manoeuvring the vehicle takes a bit of effort. At high speeds it’s okay but at low speeds, you can feel the extra weight when you steer the vehicle.
- The vehicle is grounded and stable and I can feel the sluggishness in performance.
- Slow braking – takes more time to come to a halt.
- Reduced fuel economy.
These are just my observations and I am not complaining.
