SEEKONK, Mass. – Monaco Ford has been named the title sponsor of the Monaco Modified Tri Track Series.
The new title sponsor for the Tri Track Series comes with a new title – Monaco Modified Tri Track Series – to help showcase one of the top automotive dealerships in the region and the 600-horsepower ground pounding modifieds. The series will contest a seven-race schedule across four different New England states, beginning at Monadnock Speedway on April 30 and ending on Oct. 22 at Seekonk Speedway.
Monaco Ford, now in their 100th year, opened their doors in 1922 as Monaco’s Garage and ever since have been owned and operated by four generations of the Monaco family. The dealership has grown to a top-level Ford Dealership in New England, with a deep history in short-track racing.

Monaco Ford started with Peter Monaco, selling all makes of vehicles, along with being licensed to work on horse and carriages. As the business began to grow, Peter’s sons Albie, Billy, Charlie, Johnny, & Sonny were all actively involved, officially becoming a Ford Dealership in 1957. In 1972, Charlie’s son, David Monaco, became involved in the business full time and was named president of the company in 1988. David has grown the business tremendously and helped put Monaco Ford on the map as a top-level Ford Dealership in New England. As his children grew up in the dealership, David taught Chrissy and Mike how to run the business, how to treat customers, and how to make a positive impact on the community. Now, in its 100th year, since opening, Monaco Ford is co-owned by its fourth generation, siblings Chrissy and Mike Monaco.
They also have a deep set of roots in short-track racing. Specifically in the Modifieds, the family has been in the spectrum for more than six decades. They have won races, championships and more. Monaco also recently announced they will become the official Monaco Ford Safety team of Stafford Motor Speedway and also joined Stafford’s weekly contingency program. They are committed to helping short-track racers continue to showcase their talents.
“My family has been involved in modified racing since the 1950’s,” Doug D’Alessandro, Director of Service and Parts for Monaco Ford, said. “From my father owning cars, my brother’s modified wins, championship, and myself winning races in the Late Model and Pro Stock divisions in the northeast, we have been in the sport a long time. This partnership with the Tri-Track Series and Monaco Ford – where I have worked for 33 years – which includes the time I owned and operated my own race teams – is set up to be a great combination. The auto racing community has the most loyal group of competitors and fans you are going to find. I believe it will be a winning combination for both the Tri-Track Series and Monaco Ford in 2022.”
The seven-race schedule begins at Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, April 30 in Winchester, New Hampshire, for 100 laps. The series will move to Vermont and Thunder Road Speedbowl for the inaugural stop at the track on Memorial Day weekend, Sunday, May 29. From there, the Open Wheel Wednesday $10,000 to win special returns at Seekonk Speedway on Wednesday, June 29, followed by the SBM Classic at Star Speedway on July 23. The Monaco Modified Tri Track Series will return to New London-Waterford Speedbowl on Aug. 6, Stafford Motor Speedway to headline the NAPA Fall Final on Sept. 24 and Seekonk Speedway to crown the champion at the Haunted Hundred on Oct. 22.
