The brand is bringing 9 tuned concepts to Tokyo Auto Salon 2023.
Mitsubishi Motors will have nine concepts on display at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2023, and all of them are geared toward the off-road lifestyle. Some of them are very similar to those displayed last year, meaning they are not hardcore overlanders but rather soft roaders that can handle a bit of pathfinding.
We'll start with the vehicles that Americans are familiar with. The Mitsubishi Outlander and the Eclipse Cross appear, both in Black Edition Premium guise. That means black accents in and out.
The Outlander boasts a two-tone finish, with a Titanium Gray Metallic body and a Black Mica roof. This is accented with various body-color garnishes and a tailgate spoiler, while the Eclipse Cross, in the same body color, gets black garnishes and a roof spoiler. Both vehicles feature roof rails and a roof basket.

The Japanese automaker will also present its Minicab MiEV B-Leisure Style II, which aims to show how practical electric vehicles can be for the outdoor enthusiast. This vehicle comes with an Ivory body and a Moss Green roof “that blends into the outdoor scene.” On the sides of the body, decals highlight the electric underpinnings and their benefits. The vehicle features a scooter and a mountain stream fishing set, while the interior is made more practical with a fully flat rear space that includes a desk and legless chair. This allows one to work remotely, and a bed kit gives you somewhere to sleep if pitching a tent is not your thing. Finally, a MiEV Power Box can draw power from the EV's battery. Using this and a projector attached to the tailgate, multiple possibilities for work and recreation using electronic devices open up.

A replica of the Triton pickup that competed in and won the Asia Cross-Country Rally from Thailand to Cambodia in November 2022 will be on display, showcasing lightweight parts like a new hood, front and rear doors, and various interior parts. Body reinforcement, a roll cage, upgraded suspension, front and rear limited-slip differentials, off-road tires, and lightweight aluminum wheels are complemented by a snorkel and other measures to prevent water damage.
Mitsubishi will also present the eK Cross EV Smooth x Tough. This gets a two-tone color scheme, too, with a Matte Grey Metallic body and a Black Mica roof. A front grille guard, all-terrain tires, and a mild suspension lift give it an off-roader vibe, while a roof rack and rear ladder make it possible to carry all your adventure equipment.

Finally, three versions of the new Delica Mini, which will go on sale in Japan in May, will be on show too. A stock version will appear, along with the Delica Mini x Coleman. With a “Greige” (gray and beige) body and a lantern logo on each side of the body, this stands out from the regular model. It is equipped with a shield, a tailgate accent in gloss black, mud flaps, front and rear white logos, and a bed kit, plus side storage panels.
The Delica Mini and Delica D:5 both get Snow Survivor variants with white paint and various graphics and motifs. A front guard bar, a roof carrier, a rear ladder, and lifted suspension combined with all-terrain tires are complemented by a bed kit and side storage panels.
All of these will vie for attention against displays from Daihatsu and Toyota, the latter of which will showcase Gazoo Racing exhibits and Lexus products.
Tokyo Auto Salon 2023 takes place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, from January 13-15.
