The Clubman, the small station wagon version of the Mini, is coming to an end, and Europe already has the Final Edition, but now it's coming to the US, and Mini has announced the pricing. The Mini Cooper S ALL4 Clubman Final Edition will cost $47,145, including the tagged-on destination and handling fees. Imagine if you were buying a TV at Best Buy and then told that the sound system advertised at $1,000 also had a $50 charge on top to cover the delivery and handling to Best Buy for it to sell.
But we digress. The Final Edition is only available in Cooper S ALL4 spec, meaning it's all-wheel-drive and a sporty version of the Clubman. The sportiest being the John Cooper Works Clubman, which is also on life support right now.
Like the European version, the Final Edition is available in three colors: Nanuq White, Enigmatic Black, and Melting Silver, all with unique graphics and badging in Shimmer Copper. The special 18-inch light-alloy wheels are finished in a tinted lacquer that carries on the copper styling.
Only 100 of the 1,969 total being built will make it to the US. The specificity of that number comes from the year the Clubman first appeared on the original Mini: 1969. Anyone looking to pick up one of the hundred Final Editions here will have to use a special pre-order reservation process. Exactly what that means, Mini doesn't specify.
On the inside, the MINI Cooper S ALL4 Clubman Final Edition has some lovely touches, particularly carrying the Shimmer Copper color over for more accenting and the “1 of 1969” embossed on the floor mats.
Also, like the European version, the drivetrain remains the same with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 189 horsepower via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The non-Final Edition version costs $36,150 before tacked-on charges, making the Final Edition package a cool $10,000 on top.
