MG Motor has hiked the prices of its SUVs in India and the Chinese-owned British automaker has also temporarily halted the bookings for the base variants of the MG Astor SUV.
In addition to that, the flagship SUV of MG Motor India, the MG Gloster has witnessed a uniform price hike of Rs 50,000 across all its variants. Thanks to this price hike, the MG Gloster SUV prices now range from Rs 31.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India) to Rs 39.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Though MG Motor India has hiked the price of the MG Astor SUV, the price tag is still aggressive for what the SUV offers compared to its main rivals.
Despite an aggressive price tag, MG Astor comes with top-notch safety features such as 6 airbags, ESC, ABS, four-disc brakes, parking sensors, speed-sensing door locks, security alarm, Hill Hold Control (HHC), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill Descent Control (HDC), ISOFIX child seats, impact sensing auto door unlock, engine immobilizer, and many more.

MG Astor equipped with the 1.5-litre petrol engine can be specified with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an 8-speed CVT gearbox. On the other hand, the 1.3-litre turbocharged engine comes solely mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Thoughts About MG Motor Hiking Prices Of Its SUVs
MG Motor is one of the fastest-growing automobile brands in the country. Though MG Motor has hiked prices, it is highly unlikely to affect the sales of MG Hector or MG Hector Plus or MG Gloster in India. However, the sales of MG Astor SUVs are likely to take a hit as the base variants have been temporarily stopped.
