This year’s show carries the ‘Mobility for All’ theme and will showcase the latest vehicles available in the market, and highlight new technology in vehicle safety and comfort. A total of 32 OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and 170 exhibitors from 7 countries will be participating in the show, making it the largest auto show in the country and ASEAN.
Organiser MARii (Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute) expects this year’s crowd size at around 350,000. “The public must know how to keep themselves safe on the road through the technology options that are emerging in the market. Therefore, the Malaysia Autoshow is an important platform to showcase new vehicle technology, and also the new economic opportunity that lies in its future,” said Dato’ Madani Sahari, MARii Chief Executive Officer.
At the venue, Hall A will have over 100 car models on display, including the latest Energy Efficient Vehicles (EEV). Show visitors will get to enjoy special deals on the vehicles as well as special financing packages from the participating bank partner.
Hall C will feature the International Auto Modified (IAM) exhibition of modified and customised cars. Further, the outdoor areas will host a go-kart track, safety driving and drift demonstrations, 3 km test drive route, SUV test drive hill, autonomous vehicle demonstration, truck safety and Perodua’s Advanced Safety Assist.
There will also be a free 21-point vehicle inspection at the Car Care Week area in the parking lot for visitors.
Meanwhile Hall D will be the MARii Mobility Hall which will showcase the automotive value chain – from automotive styling to design and engineering to manufacturing, and provide a vision of Malaysia’s mobility ecosystem in the future.
Hall D will feature more than 25 exhibit areas with over 100 automotive industry players, engineering services providers, institutions of higher learning and government agencies which will showcase their technologies, processes and workflows, including Industry 4.0 technologies.
MARii is also collaborating with Sabah’s Kinabalu Coders to bring in the Robot Combat tournament, with 32 teams from around Malaysia competing. Other activities in the hall include the Malaysia Autonomous Vehicle Challenge (MAVEC ’19) organised by SAE Malaysia and the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), which will see 12 teams from institutions of higher learning competing. The final stages of the Robot Combat and MAVEC challenges will take place between 12 – 14 April.
