Locally Assembled BMW 330i M Sport Unveiled; Priced From RM289k

BMW Malaysia has unveiled the new BMW 330i M Sport to add to its locally assembled portfolio. This 3 Series is locally assembled at its facility in Kulim, Kedah which also assembles eight other BMW models, with a total of ten variants. The 330i M Sport is priced at RM288,800. The retail price (on the road, without insurance) includes BMW Group Malaysia’s latest 5 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty, Free Scheduled Service Programme and BMW Tyre Warranty Programme.

According to Harald Hoelzl, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, “We introduced the seventh generation of the world’s best-selling premium sports sedan earlier this year, raising the bar yet again in its segment. While the fully imported variant has seen over 350 new owners in merely six months, the locally assembled BMW 330i M Sport introduced today is set to continue writing the success story of the ultimate sports sedan.”

The locally assembled BMW 330i M Sport comes with 18″ M light alloy wheels in Double-spoke style 790 M bi-colour Orbit Grey with mixed tyres, complete with blue-painted M Sport calipers. This sports sedan also features adaptive LED headlights with Bi-LED technology. Other highlights include the notably larger kidney grille and slim, three-dimensional taillights fitted in an L shape with emphasis on the use of smoked glass. At the rear, you get the aerodynamic spoiler lip affixed to the rear along with two distinct 90 mm tailpipes for the sporty look.

The BMW 330i M Sport has a 2.0L TwinPower Turbo petrol engine which puts out 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque from 1,550 – 4,400 rpm. Paired with an updated 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, the official 0 – 100 km/h time is 5.8 seconds. Speed tops out at 250 km/h.

This sports sedan has a drag coefficient of 0.23. Aiding its best-in-class aerodynamics is a lighter (down by 25 kg) yet more rigid body. The rigidity levels of the body structure and suspension attachment have been greatly enhanced, with a 50:50 axle load distribution and a low centre of gravity. The M Sport suspension will highlight BMW’s first-ever lift-related dampers that exemplify an innovative damping system.

Inside, the BMW 330i M Sport is fitted with the M Sport leather steering wheel with multi-function and shift paddles and ambient interior lighting. Other key features unique to its segment are the Intelligent Personal Assistant and Digital Key, as well as the safety innovation offered in the form of the Park Assist and Reverse Assist, afforded by the Parking Assistant system. Further, The BMW Live Cockpit Professional is also available, combining the customisable and situation-linked displays on a digital 12.3″ instrument cluster and 10.25″ Control Display touchscreen running the latest BMW Operating System 7.0.

Body colour choices for the BMW 330i M Sport include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and Mineral Grey. The Portimao Blue will be available beginning January 2020 while Sunset Orange will be available starting March 2020. Meanwhile, the interior comes with a choice of Black Vernasca leather upholstery or Cognac Vernasca leather upholstery.
