In a bid to appeal to a wider range of audience and improve sales, KTM has launched the more affordable KTM 390 Adventure X motorcycle in India at Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
This newly launched KTM 390 Adventure X motorcycle is around Rs 58,000 more affordable than the KTM 390 Adventure motorcycle. In fact, the KTM 390 Adventure X motorcycle costs just Rs 36,000 more than the KTM 250 Adventure.
To achieve such aggressive pricing, KTM has removed a host of electronics including traction control, quick shifter, and cornering ABS. That being said, the KTM 390 Adventure X motorcycle still comes with a dual-channel ABS unit with the option to turn off the rear ABS.
That being said, it is yet to be seen if KTM has replaced the full-colour TFT display with a simpler digital instrument cluster from the more affordable KTM 250 Adventure motorcycle.
In terms of hardware, the new KTM 390 Adventure X motorcycle remains identical to the standard KTM 390 Adventure motorcycle including chassis, suspension, brakes, powertrain and body panels. Moreover, the new KTM 390 Adventure X motorcycle comes in two colour options – Orange, and Dark Galvano.
Furthermore, the new KTM 390 Adventure X is powered by a 373.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine with 42.3bhp of peak power and 37Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
It is also worth mentioning that the powertrain in the new KTM 390 Adventure X is compatible with the latest RDE and BS6 Phase 2 emission norms. As a result, the motorcycle also comes with an OBD2 port to monitor emissions in real-time.
