An iconic car with an equally iconic owner, these combinations don’t come along too often.
A 2005 Ford GT owned by American rock ‘n roll icon, Kid Rock is heading to auction by RM Sotheby’s this weekend in the Florida city of Fort Lauderdale. Not only will the winning big take home the red Ford GT but will also receive signed guitar by Kid Rock himself as well.

The All Summer Long singer is quite the collector, with reports that his collection includes cars such as a Chevrolet Camaro SS, Rolls-Royce Phantom, a 1969 Dodge Charger General Lee replica and a Chevrolet 3100 Pickup.
The Ford GT was an instant American icon upon its debut and its famous owner has owned it from brand new. Leaving the factory straight to Kid Rock’s garage finished in Mark IV Red with full stripes, it was one of only 669 finished as such for the 2005 model yea
Since Kid Rock took delivery of his GT, it has only clocked up around 3,096 miles (4,982km) and is said to be in immaculate condition. Underscoring the musician’s special connection to this car, it is accompanied by a Ford GT poster signed by celebrated car designer Camilo Pardo and says, “To my buddy Kid Rock ‘One for the road.’” And to round out the offering, a special guitar autographed by Kid Rock will be the new car owners as well.
Immensely proud of its storied history, Ford created the GT to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Production of each Ford GT involved multiple facilities and at its heart was an all-aluminium 5.4-litre V8 engine, capable of producing 410 kW and 678 Nm of torque.
Kid Rock’s Ford GT is estimated to sell for $US500,000 – $US575,000.
