Karl Lagerfeld’s Rolls-Royce for sale Phantom, Drophead Coupé and Cullinan from the designer
Karl Lagerfeld left fashion, quotes and lots of possessions in the world. Three Rolls-Royces from his legacy are now being sold: a Phantom, a Drophead Cabrio and a Cullinan.
The designer Karl Otto Lagerfeld, who died in 2019, left a huge legacy from which over 1,000 pieces are now being auctioned. At the auction, which Sotheby’s is holding from December 3 to 5, 2021, in addition to works of art, tablecloths and furniture, three cars belonging to Lagerfeld will also go under the hammer.
The Hamburg-born designer was quite interested in cars: he designed two for himself BMW 7 Series of the E32 and E38 series. In the 1980s he drove a BMW in Paris and a Mercedes G and a T-model at his home in Brittany. Lagerfeld also had a residence in Monaco, where the auction is now taking place. There he used a Mitsubishi Pajero in the 1980s. He preferred to leave the Bentley Mulsanne Turbo in the garage – when not using it for travel. He told all of this in 1985 Interview with auto motor und sport.
