To mark 60 years since the E-Type was born Jaguar has unveiled a Heritage Edition of the E-Type’s ancestor, the F-Type: a limited run of 60 cars which wear the same Sherwood Green paintjob as the original E-Type. Taken care of by JLR’s SV Bespoke division, each car will be hand finished and based on the flagship 567bhp 5-litre Supercharged V8 F-Type R.
Next year marks the E-Type’s 60th anniversary and the Sherwood Green colour scheme hasn’t been seen on a car since the model discontinued. Other bespoke additions to the Heritage Edition F-Type include gloss black and chrome accents on the exterior and 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels.
Inside, the seats come with E-Type 60th anniversary logos embossed on the seat headrests, and the seats themselves are covered in a two-tone upholstery of Caraway and Ebony Windsor leather. An aluminium console finisher is said to be inspired by the E-Type’s rear-view mirror, and throughout can be seen commemorative logos and a plaque. Oh, and Jag have chucked in some special carpet mats too.
Mechanically it remains identical to the F-Type R, which means a 0-62mph time of 3.5 seconds and top speed of 186mph (limited). Perhaps more excitingly, Jaguar is building six new E-Types in the matching paintjob which will be true to the original 1961 car and boast a 3.8-litre engine.
The F-Type Heritage Edition costs £122,500, which is more than £25,000 over the standard car, and is available in both coupe and cabriolet models.
