Kuala Lumpur, 28th April 2026 – BMW Motorrad Malaysia recently hosted the MYRIDE & GS Challenge 2026, a two-day event at Golden Palm Tree, Sepang Gold Coast, bringing together BMW Motorrad owners, riding companions, enthusiasts, Biking Buddies and GS riders for a weekend that celebrated the different experiences of the BMW Motorrad community. From the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere of MYRIDE to the demanding challenges of the GS competition, the weekend offered something for every rider, their companions and Biking Buddies. Benjamin Nagel, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia shared, “At BMW Motorrad Malaysia, we believe riding is about much more than the journey on the road, it is also about the people, the community and the experiences that bring us together. With the MYRIDE & GS Challenge 2026, we created a platform that reflects both sides of the BMW Motorrad spirit: the camaraderie and inclusivity of the community through MYRIDE, as well as the adventure and skill that define the GS world. It is especially exciting to see this year’s event grow further with international participants and the opportunity for two Malaysian riders to represent the country at GS Trophy Follow The Trails Romania 2026.” MYRIDE – A Celebration of Community At the heart of the weekend was MYRIDE, a relaxed, Saturday evening gathering that welcomed BMW Motorrad owners, their riding companions, and Biking Buddies for an evening of connection and celebration. Set against the backdrop of Sepang Gold Coast, the family-friendly event featured dinner around a bonfire, live band performances, lucky draws, carnival games and activities that created a warm and inclusive atmosphere for the wider BMW Motorrad community to connect beyond the ride. The experience was made even more memorable with the support of esteemed partners, including Metzeler, GoPro, Marshall by Maudire Distribution, SnapClean, Lexin, Insta360, JW Sports and Armorblaze, who ontributed to the overall experience with their high-quality offerings, embodying the spirit of BMW Motorrad’s performance and adventure. GS Challenge 2026 – Testing Skill and Endurance Complementing the community-driven atmosphere of MYRIDE, the GS Challenge 2026 brought riders into a more demanding, adventure-led environment inspired by the spirit of the BMW Motorrad GS. Across the two-day competition, over 60 participants were put to the test through a series of riding and navigation challenges designed to assess skill, endurance, and versatility – qualities that continue to define the GS experience for riders in Malaysia and beyond. Riders competed across four categories in this year’s GS Challenge 2026: GS Challenge, Open GS Challenge, Follow The Trails (FTT) On-Road, and FTT Off-Road. Notably, the 2026 edition saw the Open GS Challenge welcome international participants from Singapore and Serbia for the first time, marking a significant milestone as the event expanded beyond Malaysia’s borders. This new category allowed past GS Trophy Qualifier winners and GS Challenge winners with authorized BMW Motorrad bikes to compete alongside Malaysian riders. Two Malaysian Riders Earn Their Place in Romania At the close of the weekend, Ashok Kumar Narayanasamy and Wan Mohd Firdaus Wan Mohd Nor emerged victorious from the GS Challenge category, earning the honour of representing Malaysia at GS Trophy Follow The Trails Romania 2026. Their win marked the culmination of a demanding two-day competition and set the stage for the next chapter in their riding journey—taking on a new adventure on international terrain while flying the Jalur Gemilang for the Malaysian BMW Motorrad community.
