Hyundai had introduced the new Tucson in India last year, which came with a wide range of updates. The SUV goes up against rivals like Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross and Volkswagen Tiguan. It is available in the price range of Rs 28.51 lakh to Rs 35.34 lakh, ex-sh.

Hyundai has already started working on the facelift version, which has been spotted on road tests overseas. Tucson is available in global markets such as Europe, North America and several Asian countries. Even though the test mule is wearing heavy camouflage, some of the changes are not so inconspicuous. Tucson facelift is expected to make its global debut later this year. Launch in India is likely in 2024.
Hyundai Tucson Facelift Spied
There aren’t any changes to the core silhouette of Hyundai Tucson facelift. Talking about individual components, there could be changes to the front fascia. For example, the lower grille section seems to have been updated into a rectangular unit, replacing the arch type design seen with current model.
Other parts such as parametric front grille and hidden LED DRLs, LED MFR headlamps & positioning lamps appear to have been retained. However, as compared to the dark chrome finish used on the grille in current model, the facelift version seems to have a body-coloured grille.

It is not certain if this change will apply to all markets or will be limited to a specific geography. Making changes to the parametric grille will be challenging, as it follows the same pattern all across. It has to be replaced in its entirety, something that is unlikely with the facelift version.
Side profile of Tucson facelift is largely the same as earlier, as evident with the shape of the ORVMs, wheel arches and curvy roofline. Alloy wheels look new, although it can vary based on the market. Rear section is heavily camouflaged, although parts like bumper and tail lamps have a high level of familiarity with that of the current model. As compared to India-spec Tucson, the facelift test mule can be seen with dual exhaust tip muffler.
Facelifted Tucson Performance – Heart of the Matter
Powertrain options for Tucson vary based on the market. In India, Tucson is offered with a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel motor. The former generates 156 PS of max power and 192 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The diesel unit makes 186 PS and 416 Nm. It is mated to an 8-speed AT. It is unlikely that there will be any changes to powertrain options with the facelift version of Tucson.
Much of the features are also expected to be largely the same as current model. Tucson is already well-equipped with premium features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, more than 60 connected features, ventilated and heated seats, panoramic sunroof, Bose premium sound system, wireless phone charger and Hyundai SmartSense with Level 2 ADAS capability.
