Since its introduction in the late aughts of the 2000’s, the Hyundai Tucson has remained a firm favorite among SA consumers. Despite its name changes, the Tucson is a solid motorcar with many features, features that require plenty of electrical current. With the average car battery lasting about 3 years, you may find that your Tucson is going to need a new battery to keep all those features functioning properly. So, when your battery is in need of replacement, what should you do?
No need to worry, we have a step-by-step guide for you to follow to get that battery changed all by yourself in a matter of minutes.
You will need:
- New battery of correct amperage and size
- Plastic push rivet removal tool
- 10mm, 14mm sockets and driver
Let’s get started!
1. Open the bonnet
2. You will need to remove the small air intake to access the battery. Use the plastic push rivet removal tool to remove the intake.
3. Remove air intake box.
4. Using the correct socket size(10mm), remove the negative terminal.
5. Remove the positive terminal.
6. Using the bigger socket(14mm), remove the hold down bracket.
7. Bracket hold down is at the base of the battery.
8. Change out battery and replace everything in reverse order
