Ford is set to expand its vehicle lineup in South Africa with the introduction of the Mustang Mach-E, an all-electric SUV bearing the illustrious nameplate. As part of Ford’s 100-year celebration in the country, nine new vehicles are slated for launch in the next 18 months, and the Mustang Mach-E is a prominent inclusion.
Designed as the first production Ford developed exclusively for pure-electric, zero-emission driving, the Mustang Mach-E carries the iconic Mustang DNA with its recognizable long, aggressive bonnet, rear haunch design, and distinctive tri-bar taillamps. The vehicle aims to embody the enduring qualities of the original Mustang, representing freedom, progress, fast performance, and a touch of rebellion.
Scheduled for release in South Africa in 2025, the global Mustang Mach-E range is available in Select, Premium, and GT specifications. The GT variant, propelled by an all-wheel-drive, dual-motor, battery-electric powertrain, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3,73 seconds. This model features exclusive GT MagneRide adaptive suspension, a high-performance Brembo braking system.

The Mustang Mach-E is not just about performance, it also incorporates advanced safety features as standard. Autonomous emergency braking with car-to-car, vulnerable road user, junction assist, and back-over functionality are included. Additionally, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, emergency lane keeping, and an advanced speed assistance system contribute to the vehicle’s safety profile.
