If you’ve always wanted a Mustang Mach-E but couldn’t get your hands on one, we have some news for you. Ford has announced it’s ramping up production of the 2023 model and it’s bringing down the price in Canada on most trims. Even better, if you’ve already got one on order, you’ll get the lower price when it arrives — and if one ended up in your driveway earlier this year, you’ll get some cash back in your pocket.
It’s primarily due to a new EV supply chain, with Ford getting enough batteries and raw materials to scale up its production of all of its electric vehicles. In addition to the Mach-E, the automaker also offers the F-150 Lightning and a battery version of the Transit full-size delivery van.
“We are producing more EVs to reduce customer wait times, offering competitive pricing and working to create an ownership experience that is second to none,” said Marin Gjaja, the chief customer officer for Ford’s electric division. “Our customers are at the centre of everything we do… we will continue to push the boundaries to make EVs more accessible for everybody.”

The 2023 Mach-E starts with the base Select trim at $56,995, which puts it and some other trims within the parameters of the federal government’s “green” rebate of up to $5,000, plus any applicable provincial rebates. The Mach-E’s higher trims come down for 2023, and depending on which one it is, the tag drops by $4,750 to $8,500 compared to last year’s models. That largest drop is for the Premium eAWD Standard Range, which was $75,745 and will now be $67,245.
Beyond the base Select, Canadian prices for the 2023 trims run from $64,95 for the Premium RWD Standard Range, to $92,745 for the GT Performance Edition Extended Range. Previously, these trims went from $71,995 to $97,495.
Ford said the increased production and lower price is part of its Ford+ Plan, which it said underscores “the company’s commitment to lead the EV revolution by increasing the value of its EVs for customers, continuing to position Mustang Mach-E as a compelling option for those looking for an electric SUV, and growing market share.”
Depending on the battery size and trim, the Mach-E has an NRCan-rated range of between 360 and 502 km on a charge.
The price will automatically be adjusted for buyers who have already ordered a Mach-E and are waiting on it. If you bought your car after January 1, 2023 and have already taken delivery, you will “receive a private offer from Ford,” the automaker said.
