Ford has unveiled a new all-electric F-100 Eluminator concept to showcase its new electric crate motor.
Based on the 1978 F-100 pickup, the F-100 Eluminator concept packs two powerful electric motors shared with the 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition – that means 480 horsepower and an impressive 634 lb-ft of torque.
The Eluminator crate motor, on the other hand, has a slightly more modest 281 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. However, being a crate motor, prospective restomodders will be able to buy the powertrain directly from Ford and fit it to any vehicle that is big enough to hold it.

“Ford owners have personalized, customized and enhanced their vehicles since the beginning – from changing looks to bringing the power,” says Eric Cin, global director, Vehicle Personalization, Accessories and Licensing.
“Our F-100 Eluminator concept is a preview of how we’re supporting customers as they go all-electric and embrace zero-tailpipe emissions performance, even for our heritage vehicles.”
The crate motor, meanwhile, will cost $3,900 and is targeted for builders looking for a transverse-oriented powertrain to electrify a range of vehicles from modern to vintage cars, trucks and SUVs. The motor is also street legal across the US.
“The fact is, electric performance is fun, and as the industry moves toward electric vehicles, motorsports and the performance aftermarket will too,” says Mark Rushbrook, global director of Ford Performance.
“Just as Ford is committed to leading the electric revolution on the product side, Ford Performance is equally committed to winning on the performance and motorsports front.”
Over time, Ford plans to develop a wider list of components for the Eluminator powertrain including battery systems, controllers and traction inverters to give restomodders all the tools they need.
