As the launch of the
next-generation Everest
(and by extension, the
next-generation Ranger
) draws near, Ford Philippines is starting to trickle down information to whet the appetite of those looking to buy these two new vehicles.
So far, Ford has remained tightlipped on the Ranger, but they did reveal that the next-generation Everest, which is due towards the latter part of 2022, will be available in both the single- and bi-turbo versions of the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine.
No exact specifications were given, but if they retain the same tuning in
Thailand
, the single turbo version generates around 170 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the bi-turbo generates 210 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. In both cases, they make less power and torque than before with the single turbo dropping by 10 horsepower and 15 Nm of torque, while the bi-turbo dipping 3 horsepower. The single-turbo is mated to a 6-speed automatic, while the bi-turbo gets the much-feted 10-speed automatic.
No mention is made of the 3.0-liter V6 diesel, and that may be the right move given the high diesel prices nowadays.
Moreover, Ford Philippines has confirmed that at least two variants will be available at launch and these are the Everest Sport and Everest Titanium+.
The Everest Sport features a blacked-out exterior trim that extends all the way to the 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels. Inside, it gets a 10.1-inch LCD portrait-style touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. It’ll also be available in eight colors: Blue Lightning, Snowflake White, Equinox Bronze, Sedona Orange, Meteor Gray, Artic White, Aluminum, and Absolute Black.
Meanwhile, the Everest Titanium+ will continue to sit as the top-trim model and this version gets lots of chrome accents from the grille to the side mirrors and even the door steps. At all four corners, it’ll ride on machine face 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it’ll have full digital instrumentation and an even larger 12-inch center infotainment system. Ebony (black) leather seats are standard, but depending the color, customers can also opt for the Praline-colored ones. The Everest Titanium+ will be available in seven colors: Snowflake White, Equinox Bronze, Sedona Orange, Meteor Gray, Artic White, Aluminum, and Absolute Black.
Naturally, the full specification and pricing will only be made available closer to its launch which is slated towards the latter part of 2022.
